Introduction
The Student Journal of Science Discovery (SJSD) is a student-run, open-access journal that helps young scientists share their first discoveries. We give high school and college students a place to publish their original research, literature reviews, and science essays. Our goal is to connect classroom learning with real-world research while encouraging students to explore across different subjects.
Submission Eligibility
- Submissions are open to high school, undergraduate, and graduate students worldwide.
- Work must be original and not published elsewhere.
- Co-authorship is allowed, but the primary author must be a student.
Article Types
We accept the following types of submissions:
- Original Research Articles: Full reports of scientific investigations.
- Review Articles: Critical syntheses of current literature on a specific topic.
- Short Communications: Brief reports of preliminary findings or methodologies.
- Scientific Perspectives: Essays on contemporary scientific issues or ethics.
Submission Process
Step 1: Prepare Your Manuscript
- Format your manuscript in English or Chinese.
- Include the following sections:Title
- Abstract (max. 250 words)
- Introduction
- Methods
- Results
- Discussion
- References
Use APA citation style consistently.
Step 2: Membership Fee
- A one-time membership fee of $50 is required for submission.
- This fee supports the journal’s open-access model and covers administrative costs.
- Fee waivers are available for authors with financial constraints (contact us for details)
Step 3: Submit Your Work
- Email your manuscript as a Word document to [sjsd@sjsd-journal.com].
- Include a cover letter with:
- Author names and affiliations.
- A statement confirming the work is original.
- A brief explanation of the significance of your research.
Peer Review Process
- Submissions undergo a mentored peer review by student reviewers and faculty advisors.
- Feedback will be constructive and focused on helping you improve your work.
- The review process typically takes 4–6 weeks.
Publication Ethics
- Misconduct: Actions such as plagiarism (using another's work without attribution), data fabrication (making up data), or data falsification (manipulating data) are considered serious academic misconduct and will result in rejection.
- Authorship: Manuscripts must be original work by the stated authors and should not infringe on the rights of others.
- Data integrity: Authors must be prepared to provide raw data if suspicions of fabrication or manipulation are raised, even after publication.
